Shorewood High School Earns Six-Year Accreditation and a Commendation for Student Pathway Work

Shorewood High School has been officially approved for accreditation by the Washington State Association of Educational Service Districts (AESD) for a six-year period through spring 2032. The AESD accreditation process is a rigorous, voluntary review that evaluates a school's educational quality, continuous improvement practices, and commitment to student success. The recognition follows a thorough review that included documentation, on-site evaluation, and a formal panel meeting held in March 2026.

In addition to earning accreditation, Shorewood received a formal commendation from the AESD Accreditation Panel Sub-Committee, a distinction reserved for schools demonstrating exceptional practice in a specific area.

"The use of post-graduation data to refine and redesign credit offerings and alignment with future pathways is commendable. This approach strengthens dual-credit and CTE programs that promote workforce readiness, while providing a clear roadmap for sustained progress and leadership transition."

The commendation recognizes Shorewood's commitment to tracking student outcomes beyond graduation and using that data to continuously strengthen its dual-credit and Career and Technical Education (CTE) offerings, ensuring students leave Shorewood prepared for the workforce, college, and whatever comes next.
