Chromebook Information:
The attached link contains the high school Chromebook checkout information for families. (Will be updated with current information asap.)
Basic School Supplies
Since high school students register for six different classes each semester and classes change each year, we recommend only purchasing basic school supplies until students hear what special needs may be required once the class opens. For example, students may choose to set up a general notebook for all classes; however, teachers may recommend certain models of calculator or a particular lab notebook. In many cases, consumable materials are provided at school. Many of our classes use the school issued Chromebook and electronic forms of note taking, texts and storage. The list below will help most students get started.

Transportation to and From School
Qualified students may register for bus service to and from school by accessing the e-link system through the school district transportation system. Please see the following website to check status and assigned stops. As student enrollment changes over the summer, bus stops and routes may change, so final assignments are typically available in the week before school. For individual needs or questions, the transportation phone contact is also at the following link: https://www.ssd412.org/departments/transportation
Advanced Placement and Honors Class Summer Assignments: are posted for select classes.
Questions and Communications:
Questions and communications for SWHS staff can be made by e-mail found on the school directory. Please note that all staff will be out of the office between July 1- August 13th. Urgent communications or questions that can only be answered by phone can be directed to district staff at 206.393.6111. Your message will be forwarded to the appropriate SWHS staff. We appreciate your patience during the summer closure.
School Health Information and Immunization Requirements:
The Health Information Update from should be completed before the first day of school with any updates for the student. This form will be sent to current enrolled students shortly before school from the health office.
Washington State laws regarding school immunizations changed August 1, 2020.
Parent-reported immunization information is no longer accepted. Only vaccine information that has been medically-verified* will be accepted.
All students still need a completed Certificate of Immunization (CIS) or completed Certificate of Exemption (COE) form turned in to school prior to the first day. The required immunizations have not changed, with the exception of the Tdap booster which is now required before 7th grade. See the form for detailed requirements.
The Shorewood Health Office is staffed daily by an RN from 7:00AM-3:30PM during school. The school nurse will be available before school for taking in medicines that students will need to have available at school. Please check with the main office for the first day of this service. Please call with questions or concerns at Phone: 206-393-4386 or Fax: 206-393-4711 or email at sw.nurse@ssd412.org.
Voluntary Student Accident Insurance:
This is the explanatory letter and link to Shoreline School District’s affordable Voluntary Student Accident Insurance for 2023-2024 offered by Myers-Stevens & Toohey (English/Spanish) is now available. This parent letter and the insurance options are also up on the district main website. Attached is the enrollment link for online enrollment for optional student insurance.
Free and Reduced Price Meals, Scholarships and Financial Assistance:
The USDA school meal waiver, that provided free meals for all students, expired on June 30th. Since Congress has not voted to extend the program, Shoreline Public Schools will return to pre-pandemic operations for the 2023-2024 school year.
All students may apply for free and reduced-price meals. New applications for Free and Reduced Price Meals must be completed at the beginning of EACH school year. Applications will be mailed to all families in August/September. Or, click on the link to review more detailed information and application materials.
Extra copies of the application are available all year in the Shorewood Health Office, front desk, cafeteria and counseling center. Please complete an application at any time during the school year as family needs change.
Students who attended any school in the Shoreline School District the previous school year and qualified for Free or Reduced Lunches will have a 30 day “grace” period at the beginning of the school year. It is very important for families to complete the new application and turn them in as early as possible in September of each school year so there will be no disruption of services.
Financial need should not be a barrier to any program or activity at school:
Please be aware that even if a student does not intend to eat at school, we urge students to apply for free or reduced lunch to receive other financial benefit. If a student qualifies, they will be given a letter verifying qualification. SAVE THE QUALIFYING LETTER to be used for documentation for a variety of fee waivers/fee reductions such as reduced or eliminated:
Class Fees, Athletic Fees, Activity Fees, Summer School Scholarships, Field Trip Fees
Students should see their counselor regarding fee waivers outside of athletics. Athletic Fee waivers can be directed to the Athletic Director. If you choose to do so, you may give a copy of your qualifying letter to your school counselor or nurse to be filed in a confidential file. This will enable you to be contacted about possible waivers, reductions and opportunities based on free/reduced lunch qualification.
School Supplies:
Could your family use help with school supplies for next year? While the Back-to-School event will not be held this summer, students can still get help with school supplies! Each school will have donated supplies for students whose families are experiencing financial hardship, which will be distributed to families before school starts.
Email your school’s Counseling Office to express interest in receiving supplies, and they will be in touch right before the school year starts.
If you would like to support efforts to provide school supplies for students, you can make a donation to the Shoreline Public Schools Foundation.
